Our start in Zurich heading for the Airport.

| In Casablanca haben wir den Anschlussflug verpasst. Daher
besuchen wir für einen Tag anstatt Oagadougou die Hauptstadt Marokkos.
Connecting flight was missed. That gave us opportunity to visit Casablanca
for a whole day.

| Die Hassan-II Moschee ist die zweitgrösste Moschee
der Welt (nach Mekka) und ihr Minarett macht sie zum höchsten religiösen
Gebäude der Welt.
The Hassan-II Mosque is the second largest Mosque in the world (besides
Mekka) and its minaret makes it the highest religious building in the
world.

| Ein verwirrendes Bild? Wo bleiben unsere Köpfe? Nun,
der Spiegel ist nur unten. Oben sieht man durch Glas hindurch in die nächste
Wartehalle, die identisch wie die gespiegelte aussieht. Dieses Bild am
Flughafen aufzunehmen hätte uns beinahe grossen Ärger bereitet.
Where are our heads? Well, only the lower part is reflection from a
mirror. The upper part is glass and you have a view into the next waiting
room. Taking this picture at the airport in Casablanca, we escaped trouble
very closely.

Burkina Faso 2007
|

Angekommen in Burkina Fasos Hauptstadt Ouagadougou, radeln wir sofort
auf's Land hinaus, wo dieses Bild mit diesem Mädchen entstand.
Just after arriving in Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou, we begin
cycling into the country side, where we took a picture of that girl
with the nice hairdressing.

Langsam wachsen meine Haare wieder. Zunächst sehe ich aus wie
ein Buddhist. Es werden aber noch die Stadien folgen, in denen ich aussehe
wie ein Rechtsradikaler, dann wie ein Bundeswehrsoldat etc.

|
Diese Dame erklärt uns gerade, wie man die Nationalspeise Fufu
herstellt: nämlich aus Yamswurzel.
This girl explains to us, how the national dish "fufu" is
prepared: namely from yam.

ungefährlich.

In dem Dorf Yendi wird auf traditionelle Weise getanzt. Der Tänzer
bekommt Münzen zugeworfen, die dann an die Band oder den "Veranstalter"
weitergeleitet werden.
Traditional dance in the village Yendi. Money is thrown at the dancer,
who then hands it to the band or the organizer of the festival (that's
how we understood it).

Togo 2007 |
|
Wir haben die Küste erreicht und dort die Grenze nach Togo passiert.
We have reached the South Coast and crossed the border to neighbouring
Togo.

Hier in Lome, der Hauptstadt Togos scheint etwas Ferienstrandstimmung
aufzukommen. Doch bis auf einige wenige Cafés kennt man hier
nicht das (Sonnen-) Baden
Lome, the capital of Togo seems to have a relaxed beach atmosphere.
But besides some relaxing coffee shops, taking a (sun-) bath is uncommon.

Diese Mädchen kamen uns schwer beladen vom Wasserholen entgegen.
These girls came along with drinking water from a nearby river.

da hilft nur ein spontaner Unterstand.

nur nachts getragen wird und dabei von niemandem gesehen werden darf.
Andernfalls droht dieser Person der Tod.
Traditional and sacred mask symbolizing a hyena. It is only worn during
the night around a village to protect it. If it is seen by a person
during that process, this person cannot stay alive.
